Kismayo(SD)-The Jubbaland regional security committee has issued a security entry ban in the city of Kismayo during a presidential election.

A statement from the committee said that from August 20, Kismayo will close its borders, the sea, air and land, and could not be accessed during the elections.

Also, full orders have been given to the Jubbaland regional forces and the national forces operating in Kismayo, military movement is restricted, and on the day of the election, only the Jubbaland State Police forces were allowed to secure the city and the polling place.

This is contrary to the suggestions from the international community in their letter to the Jubaland electoral committee.
