Nairobi(SD)-The Kenyan government has issued a press release supporting the re-election of a third president of the Jubaland regional state, Ahmed Mohamed Islam [Ahmed Madobe], following yesterday’s election in Kismayo.

The announcement comes as some media outlets have previously reported that the Kenyan government supports Ahmed Madobe’s re-election, as the federal government in Mogadishu said the federal government did not recognize it.
