The spokes person of the president of Puntland State of Somalia Jama Dabaraani, has announced that his administration has welcomed the defection of Gurey Osman Salah, commander of Badhan district in Somaliland.

“We have succeeded the defection of commander of the Somaliland forces in Badhan Gurey Osman Salah and all his forces to come to the administration of Puntland,” Jama Dabaraani said.

There is no word yet from Somaliland on the officer’s defections to Puntland.

Somaliland and Puntland clash over Sool and Sanaag region often.
