Nairobi(SD)-Aden Barre Duale, Kenya’s parliamentary majority leader, has confirmed that the Kenyan government will send a high-level delegation to Jubbaland President Ahmed Mohamed Islam’s Inauguration ceremony.

“I will lead a high level delegation to Kismayo and we will attend the inauguration of Ahmed Madobe,” Duale said.

Kenya’s move comes at a time when it has already recognized Ahmed Mohamed Islam’s election as the federal government of Somalia rejected his election.

The Federal Government of Somalia is yet to comment on Kenya’s brazen move to attend the Jubaland presidential inauguration ceremony.

The two countries are in a diplomatic raw over the meritaimes border issue.
