Nairobi(SD)-US Ambassador to Kenya Kyle McCarter on a trip to Mogadishu, said he had talked privately with Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo over the disputes at sea.
The Somali government did not mention when the US ambassador to Kenya was in Mogadishu and the talks he held with President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo.
Speaking to Kenya’s Daily Nation, he said his government would work to bring the two Presidents of Farmajo and Uhuru to the table to discuss maritime disputes.
The ambassador did not say exactly when he arrived in Mogadishu, but he told the newspaper that both sides would agree to end the case in a dialogue.
The court has postponed the case twice, and both times Kenya have asked for a postponement of the case, which could raise serious doubt, with Kenya still confident that the matter can be resolved through dialogue.
It is the first time the United States has announced that it is part of efforts to end the dispute between the two governments on their sea border.
