Afgoye(SD)-A suicide bomber struck a police checkpoint at the Ex-control Afgoye corridor in Mogadishu.

The blast was heard in mostly all districts of Banadir region and was said to have been a NOH vehicle loaded with explosives, and also was said to be carrying gunmen.

Before the blast, witnesses reported that troops fired at the car, then it exploded.

Witnesses said that the explosion caused the death of a suicide bomber, military police person, and one of the men on board the vehicle, officers from the police said they are looking for the escaped assailant.

Reports indicate that the explosion has caused casualties on civilians, and it also restricted the movement of people and vehicles in Mogadishu, while Somali security agencies have not yet commented on the situation.
