Police say 82 people have been rescued from the besieged hotel in Mogadishu

Mogadishu (SD) – The Somali Police Force has released a report on an attack last night on an SYL hotel in Mogadishu.

Deputy Police Commissioner Jen. In a statement, Zakiya Hussein confirmed that security forces had rescued 82 people and officials at the hotel in a heavily guarded area.

“At around 7pm, an anti-peace elements attacked the SYL hotel, 2 of them were killed outside the hotel and others are now fighting inside the hotel,” Jen Zakiya said in a statement.

The attack took place at a hotel near Villa Somalia, during a book fair attended by community members and officials, as well as lawmakers and traditional elders were present at the time of the attack.

The attackers reportedly reached the hotel on foot, while in military uniforms, and there were no reports from security agencies detailing the casualties caused by the attack. Al Shabaab is reportedly claimed the attack later tinoght.
