Hargeisa (SD) – President Muse Bihi met today with leaders of the two opposition parties, they discussed how the election of the House of Representatives and the Municipal will take place.

The conference was co-chaired by the president, his deputy and the two chairmen of WADDANI and UCID, who agreed to assess the best time to hold elections.

“President of Somaliland, Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi, accompanied by the Vice President of Somaliland, HE Abdirahman Abdullahi Ismail (Saylici) today met with the leaders of the opposition party UCID and WADDANI, Mr. Faisal Ali Warabe and Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi. In the meeting, many issues relating to the general situation of the country were discussed.” Said a statement from the presidency.

The meeting between the president and party leaders of UCID and Wadani put the spotlight on how the national parties can implement the mediation committee’s resolution proposals for the election issues.

Since the dispute over the extension of the House of Representatives and the Senate and the controversial election commission erupted, the opposition parties suspended any meetings or dialogue with the president.
