President Farmajo ‘does not grant autonomy to regional states

Mogadishu(SD)-Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo addresses the opening of the sixth Session of the Somali Parliament on Federalism, saying that the federal government does not give autonomy to the regional governments.

On the other hand, the president said that if there were any who wanted to lead the country forcibly, the country’s turmoil is gone.

President Farmajo said the federal system is based on a  referendum, and that no one can change it.

The president’s statement comes at a time when there are differences between the Somali government and some of the country’s regional governments, like Puntland and Jubaland.

There is also pressure from the opposition parties who have been repeatedly accusing the Federal Government in breaking the law in recent days.
