Garowe(SD)-A three-day summit on Puntland’s investment in Garowe closes this afternoon, with a release of three pages detailing the issues discussed.
The communiqué mentioned that investments will be implemented in a variety of state resources in order to take advantage of the potential areas Puntland has and increase productivity and job creation for young people.
After suggestions, analysis and scientific discussions, a conference has developed the following items:
1 Puntland Government welcomes Somali and foreign businesses interested in investing in Puntland, while the government will facilitate their activities
2 The Puntland Government is implementing the recently approved Puntland Investment Law.
3 The Government of Puntland will on it’s own encourage the establishment of industrial and technical schools.
4 The conference announced a range of investments that will be implemented such as opening of Hyundai companies, Toyoto, building facilities for environment protection, building hundreds of houses for investors, investments entrepreneurship especially young people and a new fish market.
5 The investment announced by the business community is worth more than 300 00 million dollars which will be implemented over the next few years.
6 Puntland investment meetings will continue in Puntland and around World.
7 A trade fair will be held in Bossaso Jan. 1st of 2020, where merchants will unveil their products.
The federal government of Somalia didn’t participate in the conference, and it’s not known how it will contribute to this effort.
