Somali and Kenyan Foreign ministers meet in Nairobi

Nairobi (SD) – The Somali and Kenyan foreign ministers Ahmed Issa Awed and Raychelle Omamo met in Nairobi today, their meetings follow a telephone conversation between the presidents of the two countries.

The two ministers, accompanied by diplomats from both countries, discussed the strengthening of relations between the two countries which have soured in recent times, the meeting is focused on border issues and how the two countries could improve their relations until a permanent solution is reached.

The two foreign ministers spoke about ways to pave the groundwork for Somali president’s upcoming visit to Nairobi.

Relations between Somalia and Kenya have deteriorated over the past few weeks, with the Somali government accusing Kenya of interfering in Somalia, while the Kenyan government has denied the allegations.
