Mogadishu(SD)-A statement issued by the Minister of Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia Hassan Ali Mohamed has named Jihan Abdullahi Hassan as the Director General of the Ministry of Defense.

The Minister of Defense said in a statement that her experience and knowledge of the ministry is the reason we selected her to be the acting director general of the Ministry of Defense.

Jihan Abdullahi Hassan becomes the first woman to be director of the Somali Ministry of Defense.

Many people are skeptical of her experience with the appointment and the role she will play.
