Somali PM in Dhusamareb, sets up A committee to tackle violence

Dhusamareb (SD) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Ali Khayre, is in Dhusamareb, the capital of Galgadud region, where he arrived in the afternoon.

The Prime Minister’s visit is aimed at ending the ongoing tensions between Ahlu Sunna and the federal government, which is based on parliamentarians elected by Ahlu Sunna and opposed by the government.

Reports in Dhusamareb indicate that forces of Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a had clashed with the federal forces in Dhusamareb last night.

At least three people were reportedly injured in the clash between Ahlu Sunna and the Federal Government.

Reports indicate that a committee has been set up to resolve the controversy over last night’s violence in Dhusamareb following the prime minister held a meeting with city security officials.
