HRC: 88 people arrested illegally in Somaliland this year

Hargeisa (SD) – The Somaliland Human Rights Center has prepared a report on the arrests and abuses that have occurred in Somaliland this year.

Also, it is reported that the police violations of human rights, with impunity, and they cited an example of an incardinated boy who got a tooth knocked out with no one to complain to.

“The human rights situation is getting worse and the arrests are increasing, The Center has registered the largest ever arrests in Somaliland this year, with 88 people arrested, including journalists and civilians, including MP Dhakol and other politicians arrested illegally.” said Yasmin Omar Mohamud, chairman of the center.

Also, the center’s report pointed to police brutality against the public, which is a violation of the law.
