Mogadishu(SD)-His Excellency President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud today welcomed the British Minister of State for African Affairs, Andrew Stephenson.

Prime Minister Khayre and Andrew Stephenson discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations, the political and economic developments, reconciliation and support of the British government in Somalia.

Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khayre thanked the British government for the support of the Somali people and government.

Andrew Stephenson commended the government for its achievements in financial and political reforms, and reiterated that the British government is committed to supporting reform efforts, improving security and development.

The British government is one of the major contributors to the country’s recovery efforts, has a long-standing relationship with the federal government of Somalia.
