Somalia files a lawsuit with the UN against Kenya

Mogadishu(SD)-The government of Somalia has accused the Kenyan government of violating the International Civil Aviation Act after a direct flight from Nairobi landed in the southern port city of Kismayo.

The Somali government has filed a lawsuit against the Kenyan government to the United Nations and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), accusing the Kenyan government of violating international air laws.

The plane flown from Nairobi to Kismayo is F-50 and is said to be a Somali owned Jubba Airways.

The plane is also set to bring delegates from Garowe to attend the inauguration of the Jubbaland President.

This comes as the Somali government has previously ordered international flights to pass through Mogadishu before landing in Kismayo.

This is the first airspace case against the Kenyan government to be forwarded on to the United Nations by Somalia.
