Mogadishu(SD)-A Somalia government responded to Kenyan security officials saying that a senior al-Shabab leader who Somalia been holding is in their country.

The government says Abdiwahid Khalif Abdi, known as [Isse Tarabuun] is a Somali citizen who has just completed a court sentence.

Deputy Minister of Information for the Somali government Adan Isaq Ali said Abdiwahid was arrested in 2017 on charges of being a member of Al-Shabaab and was sentenced to two years in prison by the military, and he completed his sentence.

The Kenyan government says it has issued a statement saying that anyone who sees the officer should know he is a member of al-Shabaab.
