Mogadishu (SD) – The Somali National Television’s posted position for female journalist in the country sparked a controversy on social media.

The posted job requires girls to meet certain height and weight criteria and must be busty.

These illegal requirements shocked the public, forcing the ministry to remove the controversial requirements in the job posting.

Somali public and professionals everywhere expressed their dismay with the state media’s requirement.

Its not yet clear if the Somali Ministry of Information plans to take appropriate action on the individuals who drafted and approved the postings.
