Hargeisa(SD)-Somaliland lawyers strongly criticize the government’s recent action in arresting Gabiley’s municipal lawmakers.

Their condemnation was detailed In a press release issued by the Somaliland Lawyers Association.

“A member of the House cannot be held without the approval of the Assembly, unless involved in criminal activity. ” as per the constitution of Somaliland high lighted the law group.

“The government guarantees citizens the rights and freedoms. The law sets out the consequences of their violation.” was said in the press release.

Finally, the Somaliland Lawyers Association proposed that the Legislative Assembly should hold the authorities accountable to for their constitutional violations and civil rights violations against citizens who are deprived of their rights.
