Hargeisa (SD) – The Somaliland Committee mediating between the government and the two opposition parties, proposed two resolutions to end the election dispute.
The committee recommended that the new electoral commission be dissolved and that the old electoral commission be restored.
Both of these issues are hard to accept by the two sides, the government is finding it difficult to disband the new commission, while the WADANI party finds it difficult to except the restoration of the former electoral commission.
On the other hand, the other opposition party UCID doesn’t mind the dispended former election committee as it rewarded them previously for their hard work.
Somaliland political Insiders see the proposed resolutions as difficult to maneuver, as all the political parties in Somaliland dug their heels on the election issues.
