Somaliland MP no longer attending Jubaland inauguration

Hargeisa(SD)-Somaliland lawmaker Nasir Ali Shire said he changed his plan to attend the inauguration of Jubbaland President Ahmed Madobe.

The Jubaland leader’s inauguration is planned for today, despite the federal government of Somalia’s objection to his win.

The lawmaker said this week that he and other MPs will attend the ceremony, however, the WD party strongly condemned his decision to leave Jubaland.

It’s not known yet, if that was the reason MP Nasir Ali Shire has changed his plans or there are other factors.

It’s also not clear if the rest of the Somaliland delegation would be attending the Jubaland peresidential inauguration.

Somali federal government have been trying to enforce a blockade on Kismayo and it’s inauguration ceremonies.
