Somaliland Opposition Parties Demands Election Commission Resignation

Hargeisa (SD) – Somaliland opposition parties have called on the electoral commission to resign since the parties do not trust their partiality. 

They also suggested that the president implement the mediation committee’s resolutions in order to hold elections on time. 

They spoke after a meeting in their office in Hargeisa today and discussed several issues relating to the election standstill.  

“We are calling for the election commission members to resign again, in the interest of the party, as the two parties do not accept your judgment and the other party does not defend the beautiful. to resign.” said Wadani party leader Hirsi Ali Haji Hassan, who was speaking for both parties. 

“President you do not get to be a national leader and get to retaliate, incite a person or anyone or even seek revenge.” Said Hirsi Haji Ali 

The two opposition parties asked the mediation committee to continue with their work. 

This is the second time that the Somaliland opposition parties has proposed to the electoral commission to resign.
