Hargeisa (SD) – Somaliland police have detained journalist Hassan Galaydh, a freelance journalist working for HCTV television.

Journalist Galaydh has been detained today by police after the C.I.D.’s chief criminal investigations ordered him to come to their headquarters to be questioned.

The Somaliland authorities responsible for the arrest didn’t say what were the reasons for his arrest.

Associates of the journalists, who were with him at the time of the arrest said he was interrogated at the C.I.D headquarters then arrested.

The current Somaliland government has normalised illegally arresting Journalists without court ruling since it took power.

It was only couple of days ago when the head of the British house in Hargeisa criticized the Bihi government in arresting 26 Journalists recently and not bringing then before the courts
