Somali upper House Speaker Abdi Hashi Abdullahi met with UN Special Representative for Somalia James Swan in Mogadishu.
The meeting was also attended by representatives from the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union, and discussed the possibility of a unanimous vote in person.
Membership in the international community called on Somalia stakeholders to make policy accommodation, and discuss how to make an inclusive election.
The Speaker of the Somali National Assembly Abdi Hashi Abdullahi told members of the international community that the Somali parliament is busy finalizing and approving the electoral law submitted by the Somali Ministry of Interior.
Somali elections is seen as a potential game changer, if not done properly, it can also easily became yet another sore spot on the country’s recovery process.
