Hargeisa(SD)-Chairman of Somaliland House of Representative Bashe Mohamed has threatened opposition parties who say the parliament’s extensions are unconstitutional and noted that they are sitting legally, and will be sitting until another parliament is elected.

“we did not request the term extensions and circumstances have led us to being extended, this council will remain in place until another council is elected. ”said Chairman Bashe Mohamed.

The Speaker continued: “We have long been tolerant of both opposition parties In their claim that the council is illegal, and that the council is unconstitutional, we will refer it to the courts, if the opposition insists in calling us illegal”.

The Somaliland Opposition parties responded to the speaker’s preposterous threat by saying they will continue in high lighting these and other illegal steps the parliament is taking.
