Kismayo(SD)-The president of Jubaland Ahmed Madobe responded to the federal government of Somalia’s assertion that Jubaland elections are flawed.
“The Somali federal government should allow the people of Jubaland to do as see fit, we acknowledge the role of the government, but for the federal government to say what we say goes or else, seems irresponsible” said Madobe at a Eid prayer gathering in Kismayo.
“The government should help the public to tackle the challenges ahead, we shouldn’t work to destroy all we have achieved” Madobe added.
In a recent statement from the Ministry of Interior of the Federal Government of Somalia said that the Somali government will never accept the result of the Jubbaland election if their suggestions are not implemented.
Jubbaland candidates themselves have serious doubts about the upcoming August general election in Kismayo, and have recently issued terms to for their participation in the election.
