Djibouti(SD)-The US military has said it carried out airstrikes against al-Shabaab on the outskirts of Jilib district in Middle Jubba region.

A statement issued by the Command said that a member of al-Shabaab was killed in the shelling and that there were civilian  casualties reported.

The name of the person killed in the attack on the outskirts of Jilib district has not been released.

The United States has increased its airstrikes against al-Shabaab, to halt terrorist activities and support the Somali government, and to restore stability in Somalia.
