Villa Somalia confirms Farmajo and Bihi meeting in Addis

Addis Ababa (SD) – Somali presidential spokesman Abdinur Mohamed Ahmed confirmed to AP that the presidents of the FGS and Somaliland Mohamed Farmajo and Muse Bihi have met in Addis Ababa.

The meeting, he said, was a preliminary closed-door session, which the press was not allowed or briefed after.

This was the first confirmed meeting between Farmajo and Bihi since they both took office

The Ethiopian PM role in hosting the meeting is obvious, his government has yet to release details of his role meeting.

The Somaliland and Somalia talks have stalled, and the two sides can seem to agree on both the topics of discussion and the venue of their anticipated meetings.

Somaliland has succeeded from Somalia in 1991 after that country dissolved into chaos and tribal conflict.

While Somaliland didn’t succeed in achieving independence, its seen as a success story in Africa, achieving peace and democracy on its own.
