HARGEISA (SD) – Nineteen ministers from President Abdirahman Irro’s new government appeared before the Speaker and members of the House of Representatives.
This marks the first group of cabinet members to be presented to Parliament for approval, with lawmakers fulfilling their constitutional duty yesterday by reviewing their appointments.
Each of the 19 ministers gave brief speeches outlining their priorities for advancing their respective ministries. They presented their strategic plans and areas of focus to the House.
Following their presentations, all ministers formally requested parliamentary approval for their positions to begin their duties as assigned by the President.
Subsequently, the Speaker of the House called for an individual vote by a show of hands, and the Parliament approved all 19 ministers with a majority vote.
