28 New Somaliland ministers sworn in

HARGEISA (SD) – A total of 28 ministers were officially sworn in by the newly appointed President of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Irro.

The oath of office, which was legally administered by Chief Justice Adan Haji Ali, concluded with President Irro encouraging the ministers to work hard and fulfill the government’s promises.

“The people are expecting every service we promised, whether it’s education, water, health, roads, or justice. These services are the responsibility of your offices, and the public is watching us, evaluating us, and holding us accountable,” said President Irro.

The President further told the ministers that the change promised during the election campaign should be visible, and that they should deliver substantial results. He emphasized that the people will judge them based on the fulfillment of their promises, which will influence future elections.

The new administration has been in power for almost a month, and the public is waiting for the tangible outcomes of the first 100 days, some of which were promised during the election campaign, while others are still being planned.

President Irro campaigned on improving justice and human rights protection, advancing basic services, infrastructure, and foreign relations for Somaliland.
