Mogadishu (SD) – Shocking Reports from Karaan district in Benadir region say that in the last few hours a five-year-old girl was raped.

The alleged perpetrator is said to be a resident of the neighborhood, abducted the little girl and then sexually assaulted her, he is believed to be on the run.

The girl was diagnosed and is currently in critical condition at Digfer Hospital, according to family members of the victim.

It is the second rape of a child in a few weeks in the capital, and it was recently when a young boy was raped in Shangaani district.

Rape incidents have been on the rise in Somalia recently.
