Hargeisa (SD) – Abdimalik Muse Oldon’s mother Fadumo Roble Hussein, who spoke to the media in Hargeisa today, said her was taken from Mandera prison late last night, and that she is unaware of his whereabouts.
“My son was taken from Mandera prison last night, and this morning we have been searching for his whereabouts. We have not been notified he was taken to court or not, so it is not fair,” said Oldon’s mother.
Fadumo said she had searched the courts, hospitals and military bases for son, but does not yet know where he is being held.
“He was not taken to court. He was not taken to the C.I.D. He was not taken to the doctor even though he is in poor health, we are at this moment looking for him.” Said Fadumo Roble.
On the other hand, a statement from Ahmed Khalif, a member of the Somaliland House of Representatives, said that the commander of the Somaliland Correctional Forces told him that Oldon had been brought to one of the hospitals in Hargeisa this morning. He was said to be treated for a leg cramps and was later returned to Mandera prison.
“As confirmed to me a few minutes ago, the Commander of the Somaliland Corrections Force, Oldon, was ill this morning complaining of leg cramps. He was taken to a hospital in Hargeisa, where he was not treated. He was returned to Mandera Prison.” Said MP Ahmed Khalif.
Oldon was arrested two weeks ago after accusing Abaarso School and Barwaaqo University of spreading Christianity in the Muslim country.
