MANDERA (SD) – Al-Shabaab launched an attack yesterday on a Kenyan military base in Mandera, in the North East region of Kenya.
Al Shabaab mortars landed in the Kenyan army base in the Konton area near Mandera in the North East region of Kenya.
Eyewitnesses told local media that a series of artillery shells hit the base, pointing out that the attack went on for some time.
The Kenyan army and Al Shabaab have not released any information about the attack.
The attack comes at a time when al-Shabaab fighters have been carrying out attacks in areas along the Somali-Ethiopian border in recent weeks.
