MOGADISHU (SD) – AL-Shabab militants have recently launched an attack on Halane camp and Aden Adde international airport in Mogadishu. Two armed men fought for more than an hour inside Halane killing AMISOM troops and other present people.

Forces from Haramad and Gorgor were deployed at the scene of the AL-Shabab attack, Haramad forces have reportedly ended the AL-Shabab attack and killed the armed men who entered Halane camp.

At least six people have been confirmed dead in the attack, police say.

Police spokesman Colonel Abdifatah Aden Hassan said five of the six were foreigners and included an AMISOM soldier.

The armed men entered the Halane camp and Aden Adde international from the entrance of the Marina Gate, they were dressed in government uniform, they have reportedly shot dead AMISOM soldiers that were guarding the entrance to the Marina Gate.

The security in Mogadishu city has been deteriorating recently, with AL-Shabab militants having the ability to launch an attack inside the heavily guarded Halane camp.
