JOWHAR (SD) – A car filled with explosives driven by suicide bomber attacked a hotel called Nur Doob in the city of Jowhar in the capital of Hirshabelle.

The hotel attacked was mostly occupied by officials of the Hirshabelle administration, there was also a restaurant where you can eat and drink.

Eyewitnesses said that a Dyna car that was full of explosives exploded at the side of the hotel, and there was a rush from the place and some people were also injured.

It has been reported that about 10 people were killed in the explosion, many others were also injured, including ministers of the Hirshabelle administration, such as the minister of health, the minister of women, MPs and other members.

Videos from the scene showed a lot of destruction caused by the explosion, and the destroyed places include the hotel and other buildings near the place where the explosion happened.

The President of Hirshabelle Government, Mr. Ali Gudlawe Hussein, condemned the explosion that took place today in Jowhar City, the capital of Hirshabelle Government.

The president sent his condolences to the families and relatives of those who died in the attack, wishing health to the officials and civilians who were injured in the blast.

Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for today’s blast in Jowhar, the capital of Hirshabelle administration.
