HARGEISA (SD) – Somaliland welcomed a US national defense bill, which the US House of Representatives made changes to a possible defense relations between Somaliland and the US.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Somaliland has said that it applauds the amendment of this law which was approved by the US House of Representatives on Thursday.

Somaliland and the United States are expected to soon establish security relations, after President Bihi’s visit to Washington last March.

The United States has since begun efforts to establish defense and diplomatic agreements with Somaliland.
