Al Shabab Blast Targets Turkish Nationals in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU (SD) – Reports from Mogadishu confirm that a large explosion was heard in Hodan district in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.

Reports say the blast was a landmine planted on the side of the road, targeting Turkish citizens.

Witnesses said the blast was powerful and the exact number of casualties is not yet known.

Al-Shabaab have claimed responsibility for the blast, claiming that they killed at least two two Turkish citizens and wounded several others.

There are unknown number of Turkish nationals in Mogadishu for doing various work , and this is not the first time Al Shabab targeted them.

The Turkish and Somali governments have not commented on the blast.
