MUQDISHU (SD) -Galmudug regional state government denied Al-Shabaab’s claims of killing a large number of their soldiers last week in Aad area of Mudug region.
Al-Shabaab had claimed a major victory in the recent battle in the Caad area of Mudug region, boasting about the number of government forces it had killed, which they estimated to be around 200.
The Minister of Security for Galmudug, Mohamed Gabobe, denied that Al-Shabaab killed 200 of their soldiers in the Aad battle, stating that the group used forged images and claimed victory.
The minister mentioned that government forces suffered some losses and injuries, but they successfully repelled the Al-Shabaab offensive, inflicting significant damage on the militant group.
Furthermore, the Minister of Security for Galmudug highlighted the ongoing and intensified efforts against Al-Shabaab, with international collaboration to counter the group’s attacks on civilian establishments in Mudug and Galgadud regions.
