Al Shabab Kills an election delegate in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU (SD) – An explosion on the road leading to Bengala camp targeted one of the principles of a school in Mogadishu.

The explosion was caused by a landmine, reportedly targeting Daynile district School principal Dahir Hassan Tohow (Dahir Digdigle), the reports have also indicated that principal Dahir died from the explosion.

An statement from Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the assassination of Dahir Hassan Tohow, Al-Shabab also claimed that Dahir was one of the intellectuals who selected the Galmudug parliamentarians.

The Ministry of Education extended its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased, the education community and the Somali people in general.

Relatives of the deceased principal said that he was a traditional sultan as well as the principal of Daynile School, and they also stated that he was not a part of the elders who selected the parliamentarians.

The news come as Somalia today missed another deadline in concluding the elections.
