Al Shabab radio station bombed, casualties unknown

Kunya-Barrow (SD) – Reports from the Lower Shabelle region confirm hearing a drone strike in Kunya-Barrow last night, an area controlled by Al Shabab.

The bombing targeted an Al Shabab radio station in the area, causing unconfirmed casualties.

There has been no confirmation from the Somali government or the United States, who have been conducting airstrikes in areas controlled by al-Shabab in recent years.

The bombed Al-Shabaab radio station Andulus is based in Kunya-Barrow area of Lower Shabelle region.

The bombing will be the first by US forces inside Somalia in the new year, and coincides with at a time when the United States is withdraw its troops from Somalia.

Al Shabab militants whose Radio station have been bombed have not yet commented on the attack.
