-The Minister of Interior for Hirshabelle Administration, Abdi Dahir Guure Karoore, has stated that inter-clan fighting is taking place along the border of Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle regions, involving two main clans in the Iji area.

He mentioned that this inter-clan conflict is being exploited by the militant group Al-Shabaab, emphasizing the need for the conflicting clans, to unite against Al-Shabaab.

Minister Karoore also indicated that the primary goal of Al-Shabaab is to create divisions among the communities and exploit them for their interests.

He urged the clans involved in the conflict to come together and collaborate in efforts to counter the activities of Al-Shabaab.

The Minister confirmed ongoing reconciliation efforts, mentioning ongoing discussions involving elders and community leaders from the conflicting clans to find a peaceful resolution to the inter-clan conflicts in the Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle regions.
