MUQDISHU (SD) -Reports coming from Mudug region indicate that a military offensive, jointly conducted by the national army and international allies, has reportedly inflicted a heavy blow on the Al-Shabaab militant group.
The offensive, which took place in the Jeex-jeexa area, resulted in the elimination of a high-ranking foreign commander among the Al-Shabaab leadership.
Somalia’s military command stated that the operation achieved success, including the killing of the foreign commander, who hailed from Lebanon.
Government forces and international allies have recently intensified their efforts to target locations held by Al-Shabaab, a militant group responsible for ongoing violence and instability in the region.
This operation marks the fourth significant bombardment in less than two weeks targeting various strategic points controlled by Al-Shabaab.
