Kambodi (SD) – Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for a bomb blast targeting Kenyan troops in the Lower Jubba region, killing and wounding several people.

A statement from Al Shabaab said the blast targeted a convoy of Kenyan military vehicles in Kambodi, Lower Juba region.

Al-Shabaab said a landmine blast targeting the Kenyan military had killed at least eight soldiers and wounded several others. Al-Shabaab also said the blast damaged some Kenyan military vehicles.

The Kenyan military has not commented on the bombing, and there are no independent sources confirming reports of an al-Shabaab attack on Kenyan soldiers in Jubbaland.
