ADDIS ABABA (SD) -The outgoing President of the self-declared Republic of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi arrived today in the city of Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.

The outgoing President and his delegation were welcomed at the Addis Ababa airport by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonen, and other officials.

The Somaliland Presidency, in a statement regarding Muse Bihi’s visit, indicated that the President and the members of his delegation officially received an invitation from the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed. They are expected to hold formal discussions in the coming days.

President Bihi and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed are reportedly scheduled to discuss various important matters during their visit to Addis Ababa.

This visit caused uproar in social media and Somali circles, it comes after just hours a recent agreement between the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, and Bihi to rekindle talks between the two sides.
