MANDERA (SD) – A land mine explosion in Mandera City in the North East Region of Kenya targeted by a car carrying employees of a Kenyan company.
The powerful explosion hit the car carrying three people on the main road in Wargadud-Takaba area of Mandera City, resulting to workers being injured in the blast.
The Kenyan police said that they did not know who the perpetrators behind the explosion who are believed to be members of Al-Shabaab who targeted the workers.
The explosion took place near the border between Somalia and Kenya, which is often crossed by Al-Shabaab fighters.
Al-Shabaab, in recent months has increased in targeting Kenyan soldiers and workers with explosions in the North Eastern region of Kenya.
