Businessman Abukar Omar Adaan placed under house arrest

Mogadishu (SD) – Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) on Sunday night raided the residence and arrested businessman Haji Abukar Omar Adaan in Mogadishu.

The reason for the arrest of businessman Haji Abukar followed after he declared his supports the principles of Al-Shabaab, in an interview with a local radio station in Mogadishu.

Abukar Omar Adaan also said he supports the elimination of what he called the “infidels” of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) at the Halane base inside Aden Adde International Airport.

“I support al-Shabaab in principle and I am happy with the destruction of the Halane compound in Mogadishu,” said Abukar.

Haji Abukar Omar Adaan was taken to a National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) owned halfway house, he is reportedly allowed to have his personal helpers.

Businessman Abukar Omar Adaan joins Sheikh Hassan Dahir Aweys and cleric Mukhtar Robow Ali Abu Mansour, who are currently under house arrest by the Somali federal government.

There are no official statements from NISA Command and the Federal Government of Somalia about the arrest of businessman Abukar Adaan and his brother.
