Chairman Hirsi visits imprisoned Waddani officials in Baki

BAKI (SD) – The chairman of Waddani party, Hirsi Ali Hassan, together with other party officials, today visited the Baki district jail in Awdal region, where party officials are incarcerated.

Chairman Hirsi and the other party officials met with the Secretary of Sports, the governor of Marodijeh region and members of the Central Committee of the Waddani Party who have been illegally detained there without being brought before any court.

Leaders of the opposition parties imprisoned at this notorious Baki Jail were arrested from the city of Hargeisa, the government never informed their family members their whereabouts.

Leaders of the opposition parties advocating for prodemocracy rallies and civilians who participated in a pro-election protest in Somaliland were recently imprisoned.

Chairman of WADDANI Party Mr. Hirsi Ali Hassan was accompanied the candidate for Vice President Mr. Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, Deputy Chairman of Milgo Mohamed Sanbalooshe, Deputy Chairman of the Party Mr. Abubakar Abdirahman Good on his visit.

The country’s opposition parties are opposed to the Muse Bihi government’s postponement of the presidential elections on November 13, 2022, and called for the continuation of a pro-election protests.
