MOGADISHU (SD) – A deadly hotel attack in Mogadishu took authorities 24 hours to secure the venue this week. The Al Shabaab claimed attack at Hayat hotel saw the death of at least twenty, injuring more then a hundred people.
The attack is the first since president Hassan is elected to office in May of this year.
To assess the threat and discuss ways forward we contacted Samira Gaid, she is the executive director of Hiraal institute, a HOA security think tank based in Mogadishu.
