Close to 200 AS militants killed in Lower Juba

KISMAYU (SD)-More than 200 members of Al-Shabaab, including those wounded in a recent airstrike, were killed in operations conducted by Somalia’s allies supporting the fight against Al-Shabaab in battles in the Lower Jubba region.

The airstrike targeted an area called Dalaayad, approximately 18 kilometers from Badhaadhe district. Many Al-Shabaab members were hit while attempting to assist their comrades who had attacked the Buulo-Xaaji area in the Lower Jubba region.

Security agencies in Jubbaland confirmed to the media that the airstrike caused significant casualties among Al-Shabaab.

Since the beginning of the operations against Al-Shabaab in the Lower Jubba region, the Somali National Army and Jubaland’s Darwish forces have recaptured numerous areas previously held by Al-Shabaab.
