Convicted Al Shabab members get long sentences

BOSSASO (SD) -The Military Court of the Puntland Security Forces, headquartered in the city of Bossaso, has sentenced four individuals to ten years in prison each on charges of affiliation with Al-Shabab.

Four of the convicted individuals, who are men, were accused of providing support to Al-Shabab.

The Military Court also sentenced two women to five years in prison each on charges of collaborating with the group.
These convictions come amid increased security operations against Al-Shabaab in the city of Bossaso, where the security forces have been accused of failing to effectively address the security challenges in the city.

Additionally, last Thursday, Puntland security forces apprehended foreign individuals suspected of being associated with the Daesh group. They were captured in an undisclosed location in the Ufayn district of Bari region.
